Ana Sant'Anna
Ana Sant'Anna (1992, Salvador, BA), born and living in Salvador - Bahia, has a degree in Museology from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and a Master's degree in Communication and Semiotics from PUC/SP.
The artist works by transforming her intimate connection with nature into a poetics that moves between multiple languages. In her creative process, walks are a central point where the act of observing and collecting natural materials are triggers for her production. These experiences take shape in paintings made with oil, oil pastel and mineral pigments, materializing memories and sensations captured along the way. Exploring the concepts of transience, luminosity, time and memory. Her works reveal sensitive landscapes and abstractions that create a dialog between the real and the imaginary.
Her artistic career includes the Stimulus Award from the 19th Ubatuba Visual Arts Salon in 2023, as well as the Branco de Melo Award (2022) from the Pará Cultural Foundation, which resulted in the exhibition "Vazios Incompletos", held at the Ruy Meira Gallery in Belém (PA). In 2024, she took part in the exhibition "O Nordeste não é só um lugar", at Casa Gabriel (SP). She was part of the group show, "Você consegue me ver?" at the Ribeirão Preto Art Museum in 2022; she was part of the 17th Ubatuba Visual Arts Salon in 2021. In the same year, her work was exhibited in the show, "Em Rede(s)", developed in a virtual environment by the Artsoul platform, at the 17th National Contemporary Art Salon in Guarulhos and in the 18th edition of the Exhibition Program of the Ribeirão Preto Art Museum, at MARP. In 2023, Ana took part in the Pororoca Residency Program at Mirante Xique-Xique, in Igatu (BA).
