Renata Tassinari (1958) presents "Reflections," an individual exhibition at Gallery Marilia Razuk's Room 1, from February 21st to March 23rd, 2024.
The São Paulo-based artist has been focusing on an expanded field of painting in recent years. The exhibition "Reflections," which serves as an anthology of her most recent work, precisely reflects her current process. According to the words of Felipe Scovino, the author of the exhibition text, "The works gathered here draw our attention to the multiple aspects of color, including its reflective and transitory nature."
The frames, once limiting the finitude of painting, now belong to the artwork, creating an architecture that constructs its poetics. As Felipe Scovino further explains, "These works, therefore, reveal a tension with the two-dimensional limits (...) they point towards three-dimensionality and the conquest of space."
The title of the exhibition, "Reflections," derives from the recent reflective surface in Tassinari's work, which, combined with painting, creates spaces, voids, breaths, geometric fragments, and above all, movement, inviting us to move for a better contemplation.
