MARINA WEFFORT: FABRIC

Marina's objects, sculptures and paintings work with the idea of movement, tension, weight,lightness, and passage of time. The sculptures incorporate ordinary objects, such as time sheets, bottlesand skulls, classic symbol of still life in static structures that pulsate with latent movement. In the "Tecido"series, Marina acts on the orthogonality of the tissue through the unraveling of horizontal or vertical linestriggering a new organization in the frame structure, creating light and shade fields, tension and distension,giving kinetic properties to the material in a reconfiguration of constructive and sculptural logic. 

Individually exhibited at Galeria Marilia Razuk (2014, 2010), Centro Cultural São Paulo (2009), where she won the prizeacquisition, participated in several group exhibitions as Em Espera, curated by Douglas Freitas at MuseuMurilo La Greca, Instavel, curated by Douglas Freitas at the Palace of Arts (2012) Nova Escultura Brasileira,at Caixa Cultural Rio de Janeiro (2011), Quase Figura, at Marilia Razuk Gallery (2011), Programa deExposições no MARP, Art Museum of Ribeirão Preto (2009), among others.
