Galeria Marília Razuk presents Trânsito (Transit), a solo exhibition by Gustavo Rezende, from April 1st on. His third solo exhibit in this venue features about 8 artworks from his latest production. They are sculptures and watercolors, animations and prints.

It is on the dual where the artist´s work gets nurtured. If informer works it was already formally materialized, now the dual does not necessarily come as a duality of formats. Here, it is all about the dual relation in existence:  of being a person and of being in the world, in the complexity of being different and unique, and at the same time of being like everyone else.  Also, of connecting with the dramas, fables and icons from a personal universe and having to face the trivial routine all around us.

This is how the exhibition sets the clue of transit, of being in two places neither leaving nor arriving transitory situations setting passages, rests, actions and small events as for example the watercolor series representing stacks of pottery.

The tradition in the History of Art has constantly been a matter for reflection in Gustavo Rezende´s production. Conceptually, the artist´s work is about the History of Art, venerates it, and at the same time deconstructs it.

In A gravura mais bonita do mundo (The most beautiful print in the world), the artistreproduces the Mont Saint Victorie from Paul Cézanne´s studio. Yet, its digital version looks silk screened, fully contaminated by the daily life universe with passers-by and traffic signs.
