DEBORA BOLSONI: DENTRO FORA

Dentro Fora (Inside Out) is an exhibition that brings together a collection of sculptures, drawings and a photographic object produced between 2012 and 2014 by Deborah Bolsoni (Rio de Janeiro, 1975). Exhibition's title refers to the idea of ​​an open space, a zone of exchange of an "exploded interiority" that turns into spatiality. 

For the occupation designed to Galeria Marilia Razuk, Deborah Bolsoni installed several objects that vary continuously in its scale and materiality. 

Made in iron, sand casting, aluminum, tiles, wood, nylon, rubber, Styrofoam and fabric, sculptures and wall objects are a diverse set of constructive solutions and spatial occupations  characteristic of the artist production. Objects reveal unusual encounters between various materials, which "come into interim agreements towards a lightweight geometry."

Debora Bolsoni

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1975, Débora Bolsoni  studied at EAV in Rio de Janeiro from 1990 to 1992 when she moved for six months residency in England to study at the Saint Martin School of Art, in London. In 2000 she attended a BA in visual arts at Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo where her MA in Poéticas Visuais is in progress.

Between 1998 and 2002 she made some group actions with the group of art Olho SP which had some artworks supported by EXO – Experimetal Org. In 1999 she was selected to the Rumos Visuais do Itaú Cultural, a project that map the brazilian emerging production, and realized some itinerant exhibitions through the country. In 2004 Debora was selected to the residency program of arts at the Cultural Remisen-Brande, Denmark, where she concluded the artwork "Royal chair room". In 2005 she was selected to the residency art program Bolsa Pampulha, in Belo Horizonte for what she created the site specific "Gruta Pampulha" installed at the auditorium of the Pampulha Art Museum. In 2007 she showed the artwork "Quebra-mola de paçoca"  commissioned by the curator Moacir dos Anjos for the Panorama das Artes Visuais at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo. Some other group shows she took part:  “Absurdo”     curated by Laura Lima for the 7a Bienal do Mercosul (Porto Alegre, 2009); “De Perto, De Longe – Mostra Paralela” curated by Rodrigo Moura (São Paulo, 2008); “Quase Liquido” curated by Cauê Alves (São Paulo, 2008); and “Cover – Reencenação + Repetição” curated by Fernando Oliva (São Paulo, 2008) - all exhibitions with commissioned artworks.

In 2011 she made a short retrospective titled "Dublê" curated by José Augusto Ribeiro for Centro Cultural São Paulo. The exhibition consisted in a selection of mainly tridimensional works of her and Alexandre da Cunha’s last ten years of art production. In addition, still in 2011, she showed the solo project "Feira de rua" at Zona MACOsur curated by Adriano Pedrosa for MACo art fair in Mexico City.
